3 Iconic snacks that rule all over India: Namakpara, Sev, Sing Bhujia

Snacks have a whole different value all over the world. Small finger foods, eaten with hands, lying on the sofa casually, watching your favourite show. Or hanging out with old friends, passing one dabba around the group, munching and talking endlessly. Or even a train ride with cousins and family, playing cards while munching on packed snacks.

1. Sing Bhujia
2. Palak Pudina Sev
3. Namakpara

Sing Bhujia

Ingredients

– Peanuts – 1 cup
– Apple Besan – 1 cup
– Rice flour – 1/4 cup
– Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
– Dhaniya powder – 1/2 tsp
Apple Himalayan Rock Salt – as per taste
– Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
– Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
– Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
– Oil – 1 tbsp
– Baking soda – 1 pinch
– Water – as required
– Oil – for frying

For Masala

– Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1 tsp
– Chaat masala – 1 tsp
– Amchur powder – 1/2 tsp
– Apple Himalayan Rock Salt – 1/2 tsp

5-Step Recipe

1. Wash raw peanuts and keep them aside for 10 minutes.
2. In a bowl, mix Apple Besan, rice flour, chaat masala, coriander powder, Apple Himalayan Rock Salt, garam masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, oil, and baking soda with the washed peanuts.
3. Add water as required, make a batter, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
4. Heat oil and deep fry the sing bhujia on medium flame.
5. In another bowl, add the fried sing bhujia along with Kashmiri red chilli powder, chaat masala, amchur powder, and Apple Himalayan Rock Salt. Mix well.

Wholesome sing bhujias are ready.

Palak Pudina Sev

Ingredients

– Oil – 1 tsp
– Baking soda – a pinch
– Spinach leaves – 1 cup
– Pudina leaves – 1/2 cup
– Water – 2 to 3 tbsp
– Green chillies – 2 to 3
– Sugar – 1 tsp
– Hing – 1/4 tsp
– Amchur powder – 1 tsp
– Chaat masala – 1 tsp
– Black salt – 1 tsp
– Apple Besan – 2 1/2 cups
– Oil – for frying
– Apple Himalayan Rock Salt – as per taste

5-Step Recipe

1. In a pan, heat the oil and add baking soda, spinach leaves, and pudina leaves. Mix well and let it cool.
2. Take the prepared mixture, add water, green chillies, sugar, hing, amchur powder, chaat masala, and black salt. Grind into a paste.
3. In a bowl, take Apple Besan, add the prepared paste, and knead a dough (add water if needed).
4. Heat oil in a pan, and using a sancha, make sev from the prepared dough.
5. Deep fry until crispy.

Namakpara

Ingredients

– Apple Chakki Fresh Atta – 1 cup
– Black pepper powder – 1 tbsp
– Ajwain – 1 tbsp
– Kasuri methi – 2 tbsp
– Apple Himalayan Rock Salt – as per taste
– Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
– Water – as required
– Oil – for frying

5-Step Recipe

1. In a bowl, mix Apple Chakki Fresh Atta, black pepper powder, ajwain, kasuri methi, Apple Himalayan Rock Salt, and oil with your hands.
2. Gradually add water, knead into a hard dough, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
3. Take a small portion of the dough and roll it into a medium-thickness disc.
4. Cut into your desired shapes.
5. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the Namakpara until golden brown.
Crispy and delicious Namakparas are ready!
